There are so many swaps that seem to be going on in the blogosphere and on Flickr. Sometimes it is hard to keep up and not dive in without first considering what obligations you have to your non-sewing world.
I participate in both Bees and Swaps: Block Swap Adventures and Christmas Block Swap that I launched with Sunni from Love Affair With My Brother. I have really loved doing these swaps, I started with Block Swap Adventures in July and I have now received a total of 2 stunning BSA blocks and the Christmas block I received last month blew me away!
I thought you might like to see them!
Here are the three blocks that I have made so far:
This month I have 4 bee blocks to make AND 3 swap blocks to make. I am feeling a little overwhelmed but I know I will get them done. I just want to make sure I give the people I swap with my best work! Do you swap? Where? Do you enjoy it?
You have received and made some beuautiful blocks. Yes I swap and bee. I had signed up for too many and had to pull out of a couple because I wasn't getting sewing done for myself. I love receiving the beautiful blocks each month and making new friends.
I have participated in three swaps so far. Two were part of 15 Minutes Play group where I got fantastic mini quilts in return for mine. The current swap I am involved with is for fish blocks on the Mary Lou Weidman Yahoo group. I sent mine in early and won't see what comes my way until after October 1. There were twelve fish blocks involved in that one. I enjoy swapping, and would like to do more.
I have swapped with a couple of groups, and did a signature block one, with a quilt group, so it can be fun, but I get stressed when I have deadlines and worry if it is good enough;)
