Snow Day!

We are in the midst of a winter storm in Western Washington. On the news the other night someone called this little weather system “Snowmageddon” and let’s just say that has stuck in our household!  My hubs had yesterday off work because it was deemed too dangerous for him to drive in.  Anne and I loved having him home. I may have taken a little advantage of it – seeing as I took a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day (a major treat for me!).

I decided to put my 24.5″ x 6.5″ ruler to good use and measure the snow fall – yup that is 14 inches deep in my front yard peeps! We live at 500 feet and got that much snow!

Anne kept begging to be thrown in the snow – and who were we to deny her some fun! She loved it – but we called it quits when the sun went down 🙂

Daddy made a snow angel and Anne just had to investigate it when he was done – she loves “tnow” – as she calls it!

In non-snow news – my Twitter friend – HQSuz – just celebrated the one-year anniversary of her podcast yesterday and she spoke of me, Jenna – SewHappyGeek, Shana – h2ogirl76, and Bonnie – Beeclef. These ladies and several more on Twitter have come to be such an awesome support group for me and I am so blessed to have them. Check out Susan’s blog – The History Quilter. Her podcasts are fun and informative and her blog is awesome too!

Have a dry day – I hope we do!

NOTE: Don’t forget, I am one of the bloggers who is going to lose Google Friend Connect in March 2012, please take a moment and follow me via Bloglovin’, Facebook, RSS or networked blogs.  You are important to me and I want to be able to stay in contact with you!  Check my side bar for all the best ways to stay in touch after GFC goes bye bye!

  1. Hopefully it does not snow anymore and you can return to your “regularly scheduled program!” Snowmaggedon has not really happened here… we are working on a mini- snowpocalypse. Hopefully the temps warm up and the power does not take a long hiatus like yesterday!

  2. Hi, Melissa, It’s still snowing here in Snohomish! Gaaah! Unfortunately for me, DH works from home so I’m still on the clock. Hoping to work on bee blocks later today, though… Supposed to get up to 47 tomorrow…

  3. I guess that’s one reason for having really long quilting rulers. LOL Your little girl is adorable. LOVE those pics.

Now ……..you REALLY did not have to send that snow my way, did you?? Honestly, by about 4-5pm this afternoon we are supposed to be dealing with the cold front which will arrive before the 5-8(last I saw about 5am weather forecast) inches we are supposed to be getting tomorrow. And how cold is it supposed to be by anout 4-5pm this afternoon?? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm NEGATIVE 15 degree wind chill. ugh. Doesn’t it just figure I rarely have to go out for much at all other than maybe once or twice a week…….but that once this week is, of course TONIGHT! Yippee. I’d send hubby on his way home from work but can’t since it it to pick up my new lenses for my glasses that they had to redo and he sure can’t say if they look better or not for me. Then tomorrow morning we are already under a winter storm watch that continues through the entire day on Friday and into night.

Signed ~ Please keep the snow your lovely little girl just loves so much with you next time. I have no use for such fun snow activities given my two bad knees.Thankyouverymuch. 🙂

  4. OK now I’m wondering if your my neighbor? theres to many similarities…
my hubby is Active Duty, we are in WA, and we just had a snowstorm, then terrible freezing, requiring hubby to end up with the whole week off. Here it is Sunday and we just got power back where we live.
    hummm, make me think……
