4th of July Giveaway from Contemporary Cloth

Happy 4th of July! This day is of special significance to my family. My husband is currently serving overseas to protect our freedoms and our independence, which is exactly what this day is about, celebrating those freedoms.  In honor of my husband and with the help of Sondra from Contemporary Cloth, I have put together my first ever fat quarter bundle. It is called BitterSweet Bundle #1 – it is a combination of Kaufman Fly Away and Kona Solids.  It is currently available for purchase AND 2 lucky winners will each receive their own bundle!

I know what you are thinking…this is the most unpatriotic bundle you’ve ever seen. Let me explain.  When I think of freedom, I think of birds, flying high in the sky without a care in the world. They have absolute freedom. The kind of freedom I hope my husband and his fellow soldiers are fighting for.  It represents the kind of freedom I see in my daughter when she is dancing in her playroom with her arms thrown up and her eyes closed tight.  This is what I will be celebrating today, that type of freedom and the strength it took 200+ years ago to fight for it.

This bundle is the first of many that Contemporary Cloth and I will be putting together for you.  Sondra carries prints and fabrics that I haven’t seen anywhere else and I am going to try and put together a bundle a week – time permitting. Each of these bundles will be unique to Contemporary Cloth and will be a mix of solids and prints.  I am really excited about this new adventure with Sondra and I hope you all will be excited to see what we come up with.

Please use the Rafflecopter below to enter the giveaway and I hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July.

  8. My husband was in the Royal Navy here in the UK for almost 24 years and now thathe is retired I think he misses it. He was posted away on ships most of our marriage age so I understand the commitment and celebrate our ‘men’ with you on your 4th of July.

My gratitude to you and your hubby (and your daughter) for the sacrifices you’re making….we are retired Army (Viet Nam era), so we know what you’re going through. It’s hard, but in the end, it’s so worth it.

This is a lovely combination of colour and pattern, I would love to win it but I think i better order some just to be on the safe side. The US service men help to keep us all sleeping safely in our beds, members of my family served in WW2 and praised them yo the skies.

  29. love all of these.. esp the birds.. i did an exchange to Norwich NY… now 40 years ago, this month… seems like yesterday…my yankee girlfriend just sent me some old photos from then… what a laugh… its was the swinging 70’s.. no bra on…mini skirt and great friends, who , on seeing me off, had to have a car ride back with my host dad, who wasnt exactly keen on my ( drama, arty ) friends.. it was a silent ride home, and tears from me… i love the usa… coming in 2013… i love your blog and fabrics alot…

  30. I like the idea of what freedom means to you. Thank your husband for doing the job that he is doing to protect MY freedom, and thank you for sacrificing your marriage and your time together so that he can do his job. My brother served in the first Persian Gulf War and I know that having a family member in the armed forces serving overseas is a hard thing to experience. I cried a lot, maybe even more than his wife did (she’s not the big baby that I am). I have never been more proud of my brother. Stay strong, and think of how happy you’ll be to have him back home. Thanks for the giveaway!

  31. Thanks you to your family for the sacrifices you are all making so we can continue to have the freedom that we enjoy here in America. Greatgiveaway!
