Sponsor Highlight & Giveaway – Fat Quarter Shop

Happy Friday Everyone! Today I have Fat Quarter Shop here and I’m going to talk about “the most beautiful time of the year”.  I love Christmas, not because of presents and toys but because it is when I get to see my family.  Fat Quarter Shop has one of the largest collections of holiday fabrics that you will find anywhere.  In fact they have a separate site for it all, The Christmas Cloth Store.  I have spent the last 2 years working with fabrics in my stash to make my Vintage Christmas Sampler quilt, now that I have finished the top, I can now start fantasizing about some new lines because I have used what I had on hand! Woohoo!

Here are a few of the Christmas lines that are on my list for Santa:

Holiday by Michael Miller

Joy by Kate Spain

Freshly Winterkist by Monica Solorio-Snow

These lines couldn’t be more different than the vintage fabrics I’ve been working with and I just LOVE them. What I love most about Fat Quarter Shop’s Christmas Cloth Store is that you can find ALL types of lines there. Vintage inspired, traditional and modern. There is something to be said for a one-stop shopping experience!

One of my favorite lines right now is Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey.  It is fun and modern. Fat Quarter Shop recently sent me a layer cake and I’ve been tossing around the idea of making Anne an Advent Calendar…hopefully that will happen before December 1st rolls around!  They also have a layer cake for you too!!!

Follow the instructions on the Rafflectopter below to enter. You will have until 9 pm PST on Thursday, October 25, 2012 to enter. Good luck!!!

  6. Lauren aka Giddy99

I love so many different Christmas fabric lines! I’m crushing on Alpine Wonderland right now; I believe because it includes pink, aqua and deer (DEER!). 🙂

  7. Cherry Christmas is a definite fave. My first Christmas quilt is very, um, UNtraditional and think Cherry Christmas is a bit more traditional… While still being super fun and interesting. Plus, I love all things Aneela Hoey!

  8. I love Cheery Christmas, but I also love Winterkist and joy. Wow – that is quite a range 🙂

  9. Christine Slaughter

  14. Happy Christmas Fat Quarter Bundle
    Northcott Studio for Northcott Fabrics
is my favorite because I love snowmen and red!

  15. Put this comment with the above commment
I really love the Gnomes, they are just too adorable. We always see them in the garden. But to see them in winter is great.

  16. I like the line from Season’s greetings. Traditional colouring for Christmas. Thanks for the giveaway.

  17. I love the jolly Christmas fun by Lynette Anderson. I love the reds she chose and those cute reindeer.

I love the Cherry Christmas collection at the Fat Quarter Shop…love the introduction of aqua and lime…sparks up some new ideas for holiday decorations.

  22. My favorite is Charlie Brown Christmas. This line brings back good childhood memories for me. I just loved everything Charlie Brown. Thanks for a chance.

  23. The Winterkist Gnomas and the Wrenly birds are both excellent. Although seeing a line called How to Build a Snowman, for some reason, had me looking for Calvin and Hobbes snowmen in the designs. Now that would be a great line!

  24. I think my favorite is Joy, by Kate Spain. The way she has incorporated both the “trad” Christmas colors and the fresh new icy blues makes me want to whip something up right away. Your idea of a Christmas sampler may be the way to go.

  25. I usually go for the traditional lines, but I’m really liking the Winterkist. It doesn’t scream Christmas and I could see a quilt that would get lots of use.

  26. an advent calendar would be great for Anne.
My kids used one and they really looked forward to counting down the days. I still have it and my first grandchild will get it, when ever I have one.

  27. I love “Joy” by Kate Spain….actually I love everything at the Fat Quarter Shop! LOL
The Joy line has gorgeous colors, both the ones that you consider routine at Christmas, and some pops of blue, too! Fun!

  28. I love the one you’re giving away. It’s been on my list, but I also like Too Many Men by Red Rooster and Winter Wonderland by Red Rooster. I just love Christmas fabrics, any of them! The vintage Christmas caught my eye, too, because that’s the kind of ornament I grew up having. Thanks for the chance to win.

  29. I really like Cherry Christmas because it has a true Christmas red in the line. Thank you for the giveaway.

  30. Seasonal Little Gatherings is my favorite Christmas fabric because of the classic colors and timeless prints. A quilt made from this line will never go out of style.

  31. My favourite is Blitzen at the moment, although I do have a charm pack of Joy I shall have fun deciding what to do with that!

  32. I love Blitzen by BasicGrey. I like the prints & love that aqua was added in as one of the main colors (one of my favorite colors). 🙂

  33. I love the All Around the Town Red Dark Snowflake Swirl because I love all the snowflakes – great inspiration for the quilting! Sorry about the two posts – hit the “enter” when I was meaning to switch tabs to find the fabric!

  34. Cheery Christmas is cute with the dotted swirls.
My favorite Christmas right now is the Stonehenge line-that panel is amazing! And I love the rich golds, and sparkle-flecked marbles. I fell in love with it after seeing it in the Best Christmas Quilts 2012 issue. Would love to have that kit.

  35. I just adore Icy Too Many Men – I am a lover of snowmen – sometimes almost to the point of where I run out of room to put them during the holidays but this fabric is very unique and I think I may just have to have it:)

    Thank you

  36. My favourite Christmas fabrics are Cherry Christmas and Joy. I love that their reds are true, rich reds.

  37. I like Glacier Holiday Batiks by Hoffman Fabrics. I’m a fanatic over batiks and the colors and patterns are just gorgeous!

  38. I love Jolly Christmas by Camelot Cottons! Those adorable reindeer, sleighs, Santa’s, gingerbread men, birdies, stockings, ornaments, gifts, Christmas trees…. they just remind me of my childhood Christmases! Such a happy line!! 🙂

  39. I love Cherry Christmas 🙂 I also love Christmas gnomes by Michael Miller, I have some of that to make my little boy a stocking this year 🙂

  40. Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey for Moda Fabrics
Why? Because of those long johns hung on the clothes line and the reds remind me of Christmas.

  41. Eek! I’ve been eyeing Cherry Christmas for a long time! There are a few quilts from MBS I’d want to try with that layer cake.

  42. I really like Monica Solorio-Snow’s Winterkist, Freshly Winterkist fat quarter bundle – it is Christmas-y without being too over the top. It’s a fresh & modern take on Christmas that really appeals to me.

  43. Wow there sure is alot of new fabric I haven’t seen before! There just aren’t enough hours in a day to check it all out. 🙁

  44. There is so much to choose from it is hard to pick just one. I love the Cherry Christmas by Aneela Hoey but I think my favorite right now is Blitzen by BasicGrey.

  45. My favorite line is Holiday Frost from Henry Glass Fabrics (coming out next year!). Just love the red and grey colors, the panel, can’t wait for it to be out.
Also love Joy by Kate Spain, as it also has panels!

  46. I too love Cherry Christmas. . It has BRIGHT true Christmas colors (why be restrained in a Christmas sewing project!) and I love Aneela’s little drawings. I’m planning a Little Apples quilt right now.

Thanks for chance to win your Drawing too! 🙂

  49. Henry Glass Christmas Fabrics :Snow Much Fun Flannel , I like fannels and blue fabric and I love snowmen. This is my kind of collection

  50. They have a lot of great Christmas fabrics, but I would have to choose the Charlie Brown. It reminds me of when I was little and I would watch the Christmas episode with his puny little tree.

  51. I’m a sucker for flannel 🙂 so I chose Winter Warmth Flannel Fat Quarter Bundle
    Silvia Dekker for Wilmington Prints

  52. I’m kind of in the spirit for some Winter Warmth Flannel by
Silvia Dekker. Cozy and sweet colours that can be wintery and not just “Christmassy”.

  53. I don’t know if it’s this year’s but I love the Brrr line with the polar bears. I made an advent calendar from it and I can’t wait to hang it on the wall!

  54. Vintage Christmas Fat Quarter Bundle by Barb Tourtillotte for Clothworks Fabrics is my favorite. I think it would make a great tablecloth and napkin set to go with my new home!
    lisamcgriff (at) hotmail (dot) com

  55. My favorite is the Vintage Christmas line from Clothworks. I like it for the green and red fabrics with words on them. They are very pretty and useful.

  56. I like Glacier Holiday Batiks, because most of the fabrics can be used for winter in general (not just Christmas).

  57. Christmas fabric is one of my favorite collections. And I like Aneela Hoey fabrics an awful lot! She’s such a good designer. Thanks for the chance to win..

  58. I love the Santas workshop range, and Joy, and most of the others. Love the Fat Quarter Shop!!!

  59. I’m really liking both Blitzen and Joy. I guess I prefer the more modern or novelty type prints.

  60. It’s a difficult choice–they are all so nice. But I will choose Holiday by Michael Miller. I especially love the white trees on red or green backgrounds.

  61. So Happy….. many thanks to you Melissa and to your sponsor of’ course…
New to sewing, I admire your quilting ability! I hope I will make one by myself, eventually (many years from now!).
