With my husband having deployed again, I pulled out a project I started during his last deployment. In fact I started it exactly two years ago, September 2012. The top is now sewn and it needs some borders. I want to do a solid border and then a scrappy border. My goal is to get the borders for this made. It is my design and most of the blocks were made by some pretty incredible friends, including the lovely Shanna. This quilt will be for him when he gets home, though considering the time of year he will be getting home I’m not sure how much use he will get out of it at first.
What is your goal for September?

Your quilt is beautiful – as is – I’m sure it’ll be wonderful with borders too but you could totally quilt and bind it right now! Having a project to work on for his return is so sweet, for you both. Glad to be linking up again this month.
This quilt top is beautiful and very striking in the colours you used – a great “man quilt.”
Thanks for hosting the link up!
What a great design, and lovely fabrics. You’ll make this goal, I’m sure!
So much to look at. Interesting quilt top for sure.
Such a pretty quilt. I am not sure it needs borders unless you want to make it bigger but the variations of blue are so pretty.
Good luck!
Hi Melissa! Your top looks gorgeous!
Can you delete my first entry? Its number 26 and it doesn’t show the photo. Thank you!!!
He will love it and probably even use it too,no matter if it is warmer! Although I have a lot of goals this month,I am not going to link up this time. Just going to sew whatever and whenever the mood strikes 🙂
I had to check and make sure I didn’t write your post! One of my projects last month was something I purchased during the last deployment (2012) and started during this deployment. And I told my husband if he stays deployed much longer, I’m going to send his Steelers quilt to him.
Phoooooey! I did NOT reach my August goal and I can’t even have it on the September schedule! So much to do this month, so little time. 🙂 Thanks for the push to get SOMETHING done! I don’t know what they’ve done with Flickr now but I can’t put my photo in a group and could only tag it if on my phone. If anyone knows what I might be missing please share as I’d like to get this in the ALYoF group. Thanks!
