Email and Blocks

Have you ever just felt so behind you don’t know if you can dig out of the chasm that has been created. That is how I feel. The first 2.5 weeks of this deployment have been so difficult, much more so than I anticipated. Largely because Anne is so much older this time and it is taking a deeper emotional toll on her than the last two. Age really does matter.  I am dreadfully behind on email. I’m going to try and catch up this week. If I haven’t replied to a comment, please know I am reading all of them, I’m just not really finding the time to sit down and respond to each one.

As terrible as it sounds, while I am behind on email, I am not behind on sewing, mainly because when Anne is napping it is exceptionally therapeutic for me to sit behind my machine and sew my heart out.  It makes all the pain and exhaustion go away.

Here are my bee blocks from August for Do Good Stitches, I am happy to report they were even mailed on time!

  1. I feel that way daily, even when hubby is non-deployable! Lol! Hugs sweetie. The time for emails will come. For now keep up with the therapeutic sewing and don’t over commit for the next few weeks until things settle down.

  2. Don’t worry about answering comments or dealing with email – those things don’t matter. What does matter is keeping yourself together and being there to help your daughter through missing daddy. Sew, Melissa, and get the “therapy” you need there! We understand and would prefer you take care of yourself and Anne, number one priority! Prayers for strength for you and peace for you and Anne.

  3. Sew your heart out sweetie and forget the emails for now. Anne needs you and you need sewing. Most of us know you’re just trying to keep your head above water without breaking down. And don’t respond to this comment either. I know you’re reading it and that’s good enough for me! Just SEW BABY SEW!!!

  4. We know that you read our comments! You Need to know that a reply in not always needed or expected! Therapy is essential for your health and sanity as well. No worries about replying to me,in particular 🙂

Take care of you,so that you can take care of Anne! Hugs to you and Anne!

  5. I really like that pattern, do you know where I might be able to find it? I understand about being behind on emails and sewing being therapeutic .

  6. Don’t sweat about theemails, just delete all and start afresh. You’re usually so good at replying noone will think badly if you don’t for a while! You emotional health is more important. Now delete this email without replying and go and sew!

  7. Doesn’t sound horrible at all. Sewing your heart out sounds wonderful and healing, distracting and productive, giving and freeing. You do what you need 🙂

I agree with the commenting ladies…you just keep sewing girl. No worries about replies…as sometimes, just the love we get from each other here in blogland is that little quilty hug we needed to keep going!

  9. Sewing is ALWAYS more important than emails. Take a deep breath and don’t worry about responding to each and every post just keep sewing and spending time with Anne. We’re not going anywhere.

  10. First, don’t you DARE respond to this comment by email. In fact, don’t feel like you ever have to respond to any of my comments. I know you read them and appreciate them. 🙂

Second, do what you NEED to do in order to RECHARGE. You will be giving so much of yourself over the coming months that it is important not to drain yourself empty. If sewing helps, then by all means SEW. On days when you can’t find creativity anywhere, then you can answer emails and feel accomplished. Or, wait until your hubby is home and you have no time for sewing.

{hugs} my friend. 3 weeks down. (I round up) You got this! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the way you are serving our country by loaning your dear husband to us. <3
