October Do Good Stitches Blocks

Last week I finished up and mailed off my Do Good Stitches blocks for October. This quilt will be for a very special young lady who is graduating from high school in June. I used the Circle of Geese free pattern.

  1. I love this block. Thanks for the link to the free pattern. I haven’t been doing any charity sewing lately but I plan on changing that in the New Year.

  2. Hello. I just found that “Circle of Geese” pattern the other day and am not a fan of paper piecing (too much waste) but I just had to try it. It worked great…but now I have a block without a home. Guess I will have to make a whole quilt.

  3. I’ve always loved the look of that block, but the PP’ing scared me off. I’ve just printed the pattern, and I’m going to try it!
Most of my quilts are for charity – some local, some farther away. I love so many different quilt patterns, but I have no use for half the quilts I make, so it’s a win-win situation – I get to make fun quilts, blog about them, and then give them to people that really need them!

  4. I’m a little slow in following up on the links in DesertSky’s Liebster post. Love these two blocks. I’ve seen the circle of geese before, but not in the 4-patch variation or with alternating foreground and background. It creates a great effect.
