Superior Threads – Sponsor Highlight & Giveaway

Hi Everyone! I’m back. Next week I will tell you all about why I have been MIA, but in the meantime I have some really fabulous things going on here that I want to share with you! Today I have Superior Threads here and I wanted to tell you about some of my favorite products that they carry that are just plain FUN!

I love this product and I have 2 dress patterns and a package at home waiting for me to sew up a dress for Anne.  Texture Magic allows you to add dimension to whatever project you are working on, and the best part is that it is permanent. You can wash your finished project and the texture will remain!

Can you guess what that is?!? Yup! It’s glow-in-the-dark thread! Superior Threads product NiteLite Extra Glow Polyester Thread to be exact. I happen to have a spool of the pink thread and I do see a fun embroidered pillow in Anne’s future with it!

Hello Summer! How about a fun embroidered shirt or a picnic quilt that has been quilted with color changing thread. Inside you see white thread and when you step out side into the sun you see a fun colored design! I also have a spool of this thread! I think Anne and I need a picnic blanket for trips to the park this summer and color changing thread would be the perfect finishing touch!

Now did you see that the title for this post also said “giveaway”.  Well Superior Threads told me that I could pick out three of my favorite threads, and I picked three that I have reviewed and they will be giving away a spool of each to THREE different winners.

I decided to pick three threads that I have reviewed: King Tut, So Fine and Treasure Hand Quilting Thread (oh wait, I guess I haven’t reviewed that one yet – come back tomorrow for that one!).

How do you enter:

1. Head over to Superior Threads and tell me your favorite product/thread line or the one you most want to try. (1 Entry)
2. Go like Sew BitterSweet Designs on Facebook or follow me on Twitter (1 Entry)
3. Spread the word: blog, facebook, or tweet about this giveaway, come back and leave me the link (1 Entry)

Three ways to enter!  This giveaway will be open until 9pm Pacific time on Wednesday, May 23rd. I will announce the winner on Thursday the 24th.  Good luck and make sure you stop by tomorrow to see what I made my mom for mother’s day and my review on Treasure Hand Quilting Thread!

I think that color changing thread sounds AMAZING! I also love what a bit of metallic thread can do to a piece http://www.superiorthreads.com/ I used it on my ‘Tree Topography’ quilt and it really adds that extra something…

  5. I’d like to try the King Tut variegated thread. It looks great! Thanks for the giveaway. Glad you are back!

  6. I heard of a girl who embroidered her wedding dress with the color changing thread. When she was in the church it was white, but when she walked out side her dress bloomed and had colored flowers on it. Super Awesome.

  7. i shared on facebook.
JoAn Higdon Godfrey shared a link via Melissa Dunworth.

  8. Besides the fabulous glow-in-the-dark thread and changing color thread… I gotta try the Cotton Master Piece thread for my quilting because it says “seams lie flatter, points match, and blocks fit better”.

  9. Linda Cartwright

  31. LOL — I don’t have to head over to Superior Threads, I KNOW what I love most of all: the Masterpiece thread line. My second favorite is Kint Tut for the bright (and subtle) variable threads. I tend to use those for quilting. Now to share on FB.

Thanks to you and Superior for this wonderful giveaway.

  35. Cynthia Daugherty

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE King Tut thread! Have only used this brand on my Prodigy Quilter since I purchased it years ago. Absoutely no fussing over the tension on the machine when I’m running this thread. No fuzz/lint from thread. Very strong! And best of all — holds color and strength after YEARS of washing. Never found a cone I didn’t fall in love with!

  36. Of the three thread lines you are giving away, I have to say that King Tut is my favorite. It plays beautifully in quilting, of course, but it is also wonderful when I am embellishing with my favorite decorative stitches. Thank you for the give-away opportunity.

  37. Texture Magic so much fun to play with!! I have tried it a few times on purses, and it’s such a great product. I also love King Tut. I want to try Masterpiece, but King Tut is a great. The colors of King Tut are great, and it adds fun and great texture to quilts. I love Bob’s information, too.

I would love to try the Rainbows Trilobal Polyester Thread, for quilting.

  40. I have liked you on FB. I love the glow in the dark thread on applique designs. I also love the metalic thread when i am quilting on a jacket, it just makes it pop. Not only do they sale great threads but other products. they have great customer service.

  55. Hi, Melissa – you know we are all in suspense as to why you’ve been MIA – can’t wait to hear. I already follow you on FB and Twitter – we are connected!

  56. I am so intrigued with the Glow In The Dark thread collection. If only my kids were 25 years younger….but wait! Grandkids would love this!

  57. I’ve just begun to do free motion quilting. I have not tried superior threads yet, but have heard good things. I would love to win and be able to try them for myself.

  58. I love their metallic threads, especially the variegated gold and silver. They are fabulous to use, even in a longarm. Thank you and Superior Threads for a chance to win.

  59. I am really excited to try the color changing thread. I think it would be really neat to use on a solid quilt or bag. I could make a cute little bag for a couple of my neices/nephews and they could have fun showing it off in school.

  60. I love the prewound bobbins in the doughnuts. I love applique and these are perfect for my projects, alot of variety in colors and small enough to be carried when I sew on the go.

  63. I am loving the glow in the dark thread! I am working on a Buzz Lightyear quilt for my 4 year old grandson. I think the FMQ should be with glow in the dark thread! It would be so cool!

  64. Are you kidding? Color changing thread like those gloves and boots that were around when I was little? So fun. But I’d most want to try the glow-in-the-dark thread. Perfect for Halloween.

  65. Jane Ann Lane

I so need to try your Bottom Line Thread! I wind my own bobbins for machine applique, and need to find goo dobbin thread!

It is interesting that I came to your site, today! I have an old(er) spool of Nite-Lite (glow in the Dark) thread, from Superior Threads. I used it recently. The thread sewed fine, BUT it doesn’t glow in the dark on the clothing item. I came to your site today to ask if this thread loses its glowing properties, over the years????

  66. Jane Ann Lane

OK, so maybe GOO DOBBIN thread is just as effective as GOOD BOBBIN thread!!!! lol!!!

  67. Since at the present I do more sewing than quilting, I would like to try the Sewing thread. Thanks for the giveaway;
