Craft Book Month Blog Hop AND a Giveaway

Friendship Star Wall HangingWelcome to my day of the Craft Buds, Craft Book Month Blog Hop! I am so excited to be part of this hop!  I decided to choose a book that was gifted to me by the wonderful Julie from The Intrepid Thread, An Apple a Day by Amanda Herring and the Quilted Fish Design Team.

Now, the picture above is NOT my finished project…I have a good reason for this. This is my best friend’s birthday present and as she reads my blog every day I couldn’t show off the final product! She needs a few surprises people!!!

I will tell you, I absolutely love this book, there are many more patterns that will be made out of it, but for the blog hop I wanted to make something that I could make but also personalize. I chose Sally Keller’s “Apple Blessings Mini Art Quilt”. Below is her original:

As you can see, I changed a couple things, like the embroidery, my friend Debbe from Pieces to Love, helped me come up with embroidery saying on mine. I also eliminated the buttons and yo yos. The fabrics were easy to select, Lisa’s favorite color is purple and mine is blue. It is a great representation of our friendship.

Today is the last day of the hop and next week the fun really kicks into high gear, where you can enter projects you have made to win prizes. Read a little be more below:

Did you see that my title said giveaway?!?  Well today, the wonderful Julie from The Intrepid Thread has a fantastic giveaway for you.  But before I get to the goodies, a little bit about Julie and her fabulous shop.  Julie is one of the hardest working women I know. She goes out of her way to make certain that each and every sale has her own personal touch. She hand wraps each package in tissue, hand writes a note and carefully packages the fabric with love.  Not only that…but have you ever seen her prices?!? She has some of the best prices out there on all of your favorite lines! Today she is giving away one of my favorite new lines, Oh Deer by Momo.

One lucky winner will walk away with 15 Fat Quarters of the Sorbet Colorway of Oh Deer!

Follow the directions on the Rafflecopter below, Good Luck!!!
