Sew Bee Blissful September Blocks

This has been the month of bee blocks for me. I made a total of 16 bee blocks – that is A LOT for me – well for anyone really.  I will share my 3×6 Bee Blocks with you next month, today I thought I would share two blocks with you that I really love, my Sew Bee Blissful blocks for Lyanna from Purple Panda Quilts. She sent us purple and green fabrics with a solid white background fabric and requested that each of us make 2 different star blocks. We each wrote into the flickr group which star we were intending to make so that there would be no duplicates. Here are the two blocks I came up with:

This block is called the Scrap Jar Star and I followed the tutorial by A Little Bit Biased.

I don’t know the name of this star, I saw it in the Tri Recs Ruler pamphlet and used the ruler to recreate it. I love how it turned out.

What have you all been up to?

  1. Those blocks are fantastic! 16 is a ton of bee blocks! I have my 4 that I do with the NuBees swap and usually its four blocks of the same design in different color schemes.

  2. I just finished cutting a FQ bundle of Seven Seas for a quilt. Start pinning & sewing tomorrow. Wish me luck. Love your blocks,,especially the Tri Recs Ruler one!
