Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side

Hello everyone! This is my first time participating in the Blogger’s Quilt Festival hosted by Amy from Amy’s Creative Side and I’m really excited.  This past month I made a baby quilt for Anne’s (my daughter) God Mother. She is having her second baby, a son, in December. I offered to make her a baby quilt and she asked if I could also make a crib skirt to go with it.  That was a first for me but luckily I found a great tutorial that was easy to follow for that!

I wanted to do something special and original for her, so using the fabrics she picked out I designed an “I Spy” quilt of sorts. I call it “Eyes Crossed Spied”.

Here it is before quilting – we live in Western Washington and I was never able to get a shot of the quilt after I quilted outside in natural lighting.

I took a picture in my daughter’s room of the crib skirt and the quilt. Keep in mind my daughter is almost 3, so I don’t have a full crib anymore to show off how adorable the crib skirt truly looks, but you definitely get the idea!

I had so much fun designing and making this quilt. I am actually planning on offering it as Quilt-A-Long in the new year.

  1. What a great quilt! I love the colors, and it will definitely grow with him. What a warm and loving welcome.

I hope today goes well for you. Thinking good thoughts and pausing to say a prayer, too.

  2. Looking forward to the Quilt Along,so I can make Sorenna a sweet quilt like this one! You will have to tell me about the partial seams? Good luck in the festival (although I doubt you need any luck in the sewing dept) 😉

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, today and every day 🙂 Thanks for the Squishie,it arrived today!!

  3. A. I love the Sneetches too!
    B. What an awesome quilt top. Robots are incredible – I always love to see them in quilts. And I like the way you did a plus quilt combined with an I-spy quilt – it looks great! I am glad you entered it into the quilt festival.

    cheers!

  4. I love patterns like that – ones which are much more complicated looking than they actually are. I look forward to the tutorial. I envision another AmHero quilt!
