Let’s Celebrate

So I hit a milestone this week on Twitter, I now have over 500 followers! WOW! I can’t believe that even 5 people care what I have to say, let alone 500. I am also 4 fans away from 800 on my Facebook Page!  Holy Buckets Batman!  So I thought I would have a fun and random giveaway.

This is a nice sized pile of selvages. I started collecting them last year when I was seeing all kinds of awesome projects on pinterest made with selvages. Well since I am trying to finish projects instead of start new ones, I thought I would give these to someone who would use them and enjoy them! What do you think?

Entry will be super simple! Tell me what your favorite dish is at Thanksgiving (mine is homemade creamed corn)!

Happy Friday! This giveaway will be open until 9 pm on Thursday, November 15, I will announce the winner on Friday!

Dear Daddy

I have no sewing to show you today. I had another eye appointment yesterday and they dilated my eyes and did some tests I would love to never have again, unfortunately I will have them again this time next year.  I wasn’t going to blog at all until this morning my amazing daughter, Anne, she is turning 3 next Monday, started “reading” a letter she “wrote” to her daddy. After the 3rd time of her saying it, I finally ran and grabbed my video camera. Let me be clear, I did not teach her this and I did not rehearse this with her, she did this all on her own….

Trust Circle – Do.Good Stitches

I am posting my bee blocks early this month for Do.Good Stitches. I know you are probably a bit surprised as I usually don’t post blocks until much later in the month. Well, this month is a bit different than any other month. This month I am the quilter for my circle. I asked my amazing sewing mates to make wonky log cabin blocks in Blues and greens with pops of Orange and White. Two of the wonderful ladies have already finished their blocks and it is only the 6th!!! I got my blocks done last night. Here they are:

This will be my fourth boy quilt and I have to say I am really excited about it. I do so much little girl stuff, something about having a little girl kind of makes that happen, which is why I wanted to make a boy quilt this time around.

What is everyone else up to?

I Made That Monday!

This weekend I was having a chat with my friend Shanna from Fiber of All Sorts about how it feels like we never get anything done and I decided to start a new feature on my blog. On Mondays (I’m going to aim for every Monday but that will depend on life) I am going to post something that I made, and by made I mean finished!  One day a week where I focus on something that is done as opposed to a Work in Progress.

That all being said, here is what I made this weekend:

This past weekend I made the last 8 pillowcases for the Remember September Project with Hopeful Threads. I am hoping to have everything packaged and ready to ship in the next 2 weeks. I would like to send out a special thank you to Sondra from Contemporary Cloth for donating the 2 bolts of fabric that were used to make these (and more that Kristy made).

Right as I was sewing my last seam, Anne woke up and came running into my sewing room, and since I made her too (LOL) I thought I would share her with you!

Glorious Autumn Block Party and Super Deals for Quilters

How in the heck did November get here already?!? I am not ready for this but at the same time I am glad it is here because that means we are that much closer to my hubs coming home.

I am participating the Glorious Autumn Quilter’s Block Party over at Quilting Gallery. My day is November 13th. I am super excited. I started working on my block last night. Here is a sneaky peek of my block and the last one you will get to see between now and November 13th!
