June Goals – A Lovely Year of Finishes

Wait! What? Does that say June?!? I’m so not ready for it to be June! I’m really not quite sure how this happened.

In fact, I may just pretend that it isn’t happening. LOL

It is time to set a June goal, now don’t laugh or anything, but the goal I am picking is kind of a hold over from May 2013 A Lovely Year of Finishes. Last May (like a whole year ago), my goal was to finish my Swoon top made out of Half Moon Modern – one of my all time favorite fabric lines. This June, I have decided it is time to make the backing for that quilt.

So there is the top. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this quilt and it is time to be able to use it rather than just stare at it in my UFO pile. Wish me luck!

I Finished! May Finish – A Lovely Year of Finishes

Nothing like waiting until the very last minute to show my finish, right? I actually finished the top for this quilt about a week ago. Then I started making the back because I got a bit obsessed and then because I just couldn’t walk away, I quilted it too! Next up is binding and then pattern writing. Overall I am going to declare May a very successful month!

I couldn’t get a very good shot outside of the back, it was windy (as you might be able to tell in the picture above) and when I got inside and looked at the pictures they were all blurry. Darn you nature for messing with my quilt pictures!

I cannot wait to get this quilt bound! I am definitely entering it into our county fair this year, even if no one else loves it, I do!

Hi Everyone! I am so late today! I have been working my tail off to finish my Flowering Lone Star quilt and thought I would show you a progress shot. I had to take this picture with my iPhone because I couldn’t get the colors right on my expensive camera (go figure).

I just realized I haven’t posted goals for the last 2 weeks. I swear, May has just been testing my resolve on every level! Moving on!

I have finished my new Flowering Lone Star, which if you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you will have seen it already, and now I am working on the backing for it. My goal this week is to turn these stars into a backing for the quilt. I already have a quilting plan (which is a minor miracle!), so I am really excited to get this done!

Whew! May is almost over. This month was a bear for me, how about you? I realized about a week ago that I hadn’t made any progress on my goal, which was to remake the top for my Flowering Lone Star Quilt. I am happy to announce the top is done. I am working on the back now. Here is the original quilt, I will blog later this week about the new top after I get some pictures. If it is nice out tomorrow, I will be corralling hubby into helping me!
