September Bee Blocks

As I am taking a break from 3×6 this quarter (even though I need 14 more blocks!), my only “bee” sewing is for Do. Good Stitches Trust Circle.

This month Kristy asked us to make some Low Volume Bricks measuring 12″ x 24″. Here is what I found in my stash – I can’t believe I had so many low volume prints!

It really is much more cheerful in person, I had one heck of a time trying to photograph low volume fabrics. Live and learn!

Happy Monday!

All Framed Up Pattern Launch

Welcome to the launch of my All Framed Up pattern! It is up on Craftsy as a digital download! I am doing a special launch price for only $5.00.

The pattern comes in 2 sizes: lap size and king size.

The great thing about this quilt pattern is that it is designed for the beginning quilter. This pattern features a great use of negative space which is wonderful for people like me who are just starting to learn free motion quilting – it provides a beautiful space to practice.  The quilt goes together in a very short period of time – you can easily make a top in one afternoon!

I had some really wonderful quilting friends take the time to test this pattern! They made some truly incredible quilts!

Rachel from Raven Quilts and block fun created this beauty.

Debbe from Pieces to Love created this masterpiece, you can read what Debbe had to say about the pattern here.

The talented Carolyn from Sweet Boater Chick created this beautiful batik version! You can read about her experience sewing the pattern here.

My friend Honnah, from my new Modern Quilt Guild, whipped up this fun version (check out her mad free motion quilting skills!).

Barb from Mountain Quiltworks did a stunning take on the pattern, and with her long arm she did some amazing quilting. You can read about her experience with the pattern here.

One of my wonderful readers, Shiv, was kind enough to test the King Size version of my pattern, in her words “it is HUGE”.

I hope you enjoy this pattern and get ready I will be coming out with a new pattern soon and will be looking for more testers.  You can download the All Framed Up pattern over on Craftsy.

September Goal Party – A Lovely Year of Finishes

Welcome to September, the start of school (at least in Washington), the start of autumn (definitely in Washington), and for me…the start of my Christmas sewing! I probably should have started months ago, but I’ve had A LOT going on. My goal for September is to quilt my Vintage Christmas Sampler – if I am feeling scrappy I might even bind it, but my actual goal is to simply get it quilted.  All of the tutorials for these blocks are available on my blog, just follow the link above and remember, they were all written for a scant 1/4″ seam!

This quilt could easily be made modern with some different fabric choices, but I went with what I had in my stash at the time. I cannot wait to snuggle underneath this at Christmas!

Your turn!

What one item will you choose to do for September?

You have two requirements to be entered into the prizes this month.

1. Link-up {on this post} the first 7-days of the month

and

2. Link-up in the last 7-days of the month.

Add your blog post or flickr photo (with appropriate descriptions) to the linky party below.

Please grab a button or link back to Shanna and I so other people can join in the fun!

**Please note, the linky party is the same here and over at Shanna, so there is no need to enter twice **

For those unsure of how to link up go check out our Q&A Page for A Lovely Year of Finishes – there are instructions on how to link up from a blog and from Flickr.
