quilt along

Blocks are complete!

So I just couldn’t help myself and I went ahead and finished all of the blocks yesterday! I think I am going to go ahead with a navy border. I just need to buy more fabric, how sad!

Curve It Up Challenge Blocks - https://test.sewbittersweetdesigns.comDo you see the little spot of pink hiding on the right hand side? Someone is playing a little hide and seek…

Found you! https://test.sewbittersweetdesigns.com“Found You!” she yelled.

And because Anne loves to take pictures with my camera, her is her picture of my blocks.

Curve It Up Challenge Update

I have been trucking along with the Curve It Up Challenge, pattern by Sew Kind of Wonderful.  I have all but two blocks done!

Love how this is coming together! #ciuchallenge #janome #quickcurveruler

Excuse the cell phone picture, but as I write this post it is late at night and the lighting now sucks too much for a real picture.

I am just so happy with how the blocks are turning out. My Fancy Fans and my Drunkards Path blocks are a tad different from the original designs, and I am really happy with how they turned out. I could seriously see a whole quilt made from the fans. I just love that block!

I am hoping to be done with the blocks by Wednesday and then I need to decide if I want to sash or not. So far I’m not leaning in any particular direction, I would like to try and stay within my stash, as so far I haven’t bought anything for this quilt. That may change when I have to back it but for now I haven’t spent a dime on it! Who knew I had so many solid shades of blue in my stash!

Happy Monday and Happy Quilting to Everyone!

Sewing Therapy Tuesday

This weekend and yesterday I took some time for sewing therapy. It is cheaper than the traditional kind of therapy and I can do it in the comfort of my jammies! I worked on blocks 2 and 3 from the Curve It Up Challenge.  I have to say I am really enjoying the mental break from designing, though quite soon here I will likely need to take a break from this and start the dreaded Elsa Dress.

Blocks 1 2 3 - CIU Challenge - https://test.sewbittersweetdesigns.comI was originally going to do all American Made Brand solids, but I didn’t have enough and I wanted more variety in my blues, greens, grays, so I have gone ahead and added some Konas and Northcotts to the mix.

I am very happy with how it is turning out so far and really looking forward to block 4. Stay tuned for more curvy blocks!
