I am happy to be able to present you with the Marvel Quilt! It is quite a Marvel to behold!
I am so happy with how this quilt turned out. The ladies of Do Good Stitches Trust Circle did a phenomenal job. I cannot wait to send this out to the family who it was made for!

Spike to the rescue! I have managed to get a Do Good Stitches quilt quilted! All that is left is to bind it and take a final photograph.
Here is the top before it was quilted.
When I asked the wonderful ladies of Do Good Stitches to make Marvel themed quilt blocks, I told them they could simply use themed fabrics or let their imaginations and talents run wild. Clearly these ladies have talent!
I got the top pieced together last Friday and I quilt it on Spike on Tuesday. Last night at my guild meeting Heather from Heather’s Creative Blessings took a picture of it for me during sew and share. Once it is bound I will take a picture outside so you can see it in all it’s finished glory. I’m hoping to have it done over the weekend.
I did an all over jagged quilting design because it reminded me of the action and word bubbles you see in comic books, like when they write the word POW! The white blocks I used white thread on, next time I might change that, but overall I am super pleased with my quilting choice. I’m turning the back to the front for a binding, and the backing is three different Marvel fabrics so it should look pretty cool.
I just love being able to bang out quilts!
Well, I’m ready for my close up! At least on my quilting anyways. I have worked really hard on my Yellow Gray and Aqua quilt and I’m very proud of the results. It was done 50/50 regulated and 50/50 non-regulated. I’m not even sure you can tell the different unless you look super close!
Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to get the google photos to allow me to put the pictures here directly and I am about to run out the door to take Anne on our first of many Spring Break adventures. Here is the link of the album!

I finished quilting my first quilt on Spike yesterday! I am super excited!
I am going to admit right now that I thought the backing was going to look terrible, mostly because it is navy and I used white thread, so I figured every bobble and misstep would show up. I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the back!
I love how it looks! This is an extra wide backing by Tula Pink. I got it at my local quilt shop, Ruby Street Quiltworks and I’m just so happy.

This month I had to dig deep into my fabric stash to make our bee blocks. It was requested that we use large floral prints…those are not abundant in my stash, but luckily I made a commission quilt three years ago out of Kaffe Fassett fabrics and was able to keep my scraps. We made Japanese X and + blocks using this tutorial by City Stitches.
We had a beautiful spring day yesterday so my blocks are slightly over exposed but I thought they looked pretty with the sun beaming on them.
I’ve been working my through the sampler quilt I have loaded on Spike. I will post photos as soon as it is done, there are a few progress photos on Instagram.
