I like Stitches n’ giggles on FB (mo magoo).

Congratulations Mo! I will be sending you an email later today to get your information!

Make sure you check back on Monday for more Spring fun!

PS. I finished quilting the secret project – and I almost like the back as much as the front now…and the cool part is I used a solid piece of white fabric for the back! It is amazing the difference quilting can make!!!

Happy Easter

Yesterday we went to see the Easter Bunny and I am happy to report that Anne is still completely and totally enamored with him!  This is fabulous news because at not quite 2.5 years old, Santa is still NOT a good guy in her mind.  So at least once per year we can get a super cute holiday pic, and this year we got 4!

(this one is our Easter Card that I mailed out at the last second yesterday!)

I know this week has been heavy on the family stuff and light on the sewing and quilting front, I hope you all don’t mind – I’m trying to lead with my heart these days. Sewing and quilting did happen this week though, I made 2 bee blocks, I will show them to you next week, and yesterday I started doing some FMQ on my secret project. I will show you the back of that next week too! I’m hoping to get one more quilt quilted before heading up to Victoria British Columbia with my hubs on our first vacation just the two of us since Anne was born. My parents are being kind enough to come stay with Anne for the few days we will be gone.

Don’t forget, today is the last day to enter the great giveaway from Stitches N’ Giggles! I will be picking a winner at 9:00 pm tonight.

Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!

Finish-A-Long Finishes

So I wasn’t as successful as I had hoped to be with the Finish-A-Long over at Quilter in the Gap, but I am happy with how much I did get done.

To see my original list of projects I wanted to finish – check out this post.

I wanted to finish the Zig Zag Zoom quilt for my sister-in-law. She is due to have her baby in about 2 weeks and I am happy to report that it is finished and I will be shipping it this week!

My second goal was to write up two patterns this quarter, I finished one completely and it is even being sold at the Intrepid Thread. Here is the link. If you like the pattern please remember if you purchase it ALL proceeds are going to charity!

The second pattern isn’t quite as far along as I would like. I finished the top, but it still needs to be quilted and the pattern needs to be written. Oh well, I got close on that one!

My third goal was to successfully complete my first QAL. I am happy to report that I finished Jenna’s QAL at SewHappyGeek. I couldn’t be more pleased with how beautiful it looks!

My fourth goal was a super failure. I was going to make my final pay it forward gift, but…well I have no excuses, life and other things got in the way. I still have time to make it happen and I will!

My fifth goal was to make something for Valentine’s Day and I am happy to report that I did!

I love my Valentine’s Day project, and I ended up donating it to charity. It will be auctioned off for a Mission that my friend runs in Tanzania.

Did you participate in the Finish-A-Long over at Quilter in the Gap? How did you do?

Kitchen Dancing

So yesterday I was a little weepy and emotional. Thankfully I have a two-year old bundle of energy and joy who keeps me moving constantly so I don’t have much time to get that way! There are a lot of things going on in our lives right now and some days it just takes more of a toll than others, yesterday was one of those days. Well, my hubs and Anne found the best way ever to cheer me up. They put on the song “She’s A Lady” and we did some kitchen dancing! We all had so much fun!

I swear, the next time I get even a little bit down I am going to turn up the music and do some kitchen dancing with my family! Did you notice, even the giant sock monkey got in on the act!

Happy Tuesday!
