Hi Everyone! I have been MIA for the last several days – 5 to be exact! First we lost power due to the snow and when we got that back after 2 fun days in darkness we went an additional 3 days without phone/internet/cable. Can’t complain too much, we are all healthy, we didn’t lose any food, and things could always have been much worse. So let’s celebrate having power and being connected to the modern world again with a highlight post and giveaway from Fat Quarter Shop!

I can’t think of a single thing about Fat Quarter Shop that I don’t love. They have some of the fastest shipping around – same day if you order before 3pm central time.  The service is unparalleled, Kimberly and Stephanie have both helped me match solids to prints – I have a hard time doing that on the computer. They are always willing to take the time to make sure you have exactly what you need.

One of the things I really love about Fat Quarter Shop is being able to surf through their Coming Soon section and plan out future projects. Here are a few of my favorite new lines coming out soon:

I can’t wait to get my hands on 10 Rubber Ducks designed by Eric Carle – I swear Anne has almost every book of his and we love them all!

I love Thomas Knauer – how cute would Flock be as a pillow and bedding set for Anne?!? Love it!

Oh My LORD! Don’t you just love this line! I am envisioning so many fun projects – I see a Fat Quarter Bundle in my future!

Sorry I am so tardy in posting this! We live in Olympia, WA and were hit really hard by the recent snow storm – we didn’t have power for 48 hours and we had no internet/phone/cable for 5 days. We are a lot luckier than some people – there are some people who still don’t have power!

Now on to the winner!

Snow Day!

We are in the midst of a winter storm in Western Washington. On the news the other night someone called this little weather system “Snowmageddon” and let’s just say that has stuck in our household!  My hubs had yesterday off work because it was deemed too dangerous for him to drive in.  Anne and I loved having him home. I may have taken a little advantage of it – seeing as I took a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day (a major treat for me!).

I decided to put my 24.5″ x 6.5″ ruler to good use and measure the snow fall – yup that is 14 inches deep in my front yard peeps! We live at 500 feet and got that much snow!

Anne kept begging to be thrown in the snow – and who were we to deny her some fun! She loved it – but we called it quits when the sun went down 🙂

Daddy made a snow angel and Anne just had to investigate it when he was done – she loves “tnow” – as she calls it!

In non-snow news – my Twitter friend – HQSuz – just celebrated the one-year anniversary of her podcast yesterday and she spoke of me, Jenna – SewHappyGeek, Shana – h2ogirl76, and Bonnie – Beeclef. These ladies and several more on Twitter have come to be such an awesome support group for me and I am so blessed to have them. Check out Susan’s blog – The History Quilter. Her podcasts are fun and informative and her blog is awesome too!
